Judge Christopher M. Trebilcock was appointed to the Michigan Court of Appeals in 2025 by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, bringing more than two decades of legal experience to the bench. Before joining the Court, he served as an employment, labor, education, municipal, and election law attorney at two of Michigan’s most respected firms—Clark Hill and Miller Canfield.
He previously worked in Washington, D.C. as an Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Department of Labor, supporting administrative law judges on complex federal cases. Judge Trebilcock has been repeatedly recognized for his skill and integrity by Chambers USA, DBusiness, Crain’s Detroit Business, Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly, Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers.
